What this site does and does not promise

Numbox publishes shared temporary phone numbers for the United States and Canada. Read this before you rely on one for anything that matters.

The numbers are shared, and the messages are open

Every message sent to a number on this site is readable by anyone who opens the same inbox. We do not hide it, we do not gate it behind an account, and we do not remove messages on request. Treat everything that lands on a shared number as visible to strangers.

That is the trade for numbers that cost nothing to use. It makes them a fit for a one-time verification code and a poor fit for anything you plan to keep.

No promise that a code arrives

We do not control the services that send the codes. WhatsApp, Telegram, banks and many marketplaces check a phone number before they send anything, and some of them will not send to a shared number at all. When that happens there is no error on our side to show you.

Numbers also rotate. A number that works today can stop taking traffic tomorrow. Nothing on this site is a commitment that a specific number will be available or that a specific service will accept it.

Do not use these numbers for anything that needs to stay yours

Never use a shared number for banking, payments, work accounts, password resets, or any account tied to your identity. If you do it anyway, you accept that whoever opens the same inbox can read the codes sent to it.

If you need a number only you can read, rent one instead — that is a different product and it exists for exactly this case.

WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Instagram, Facebook and the other services named on this site are trademarks of their owners. Naming them describes what people verify with a temporary number; it does not imply any partnership with, or endorsement by, those companies.
