Terms of service

Numbox numbers are meant for reading a one-time SMS code you need to finish a signup or a verification step. Open a number, use it where a service asks for a phone number, and read the code that lands in the inbox for that number. Nothing else about the service is promised beyond showing what arrives in that inbox.

Use a number the way it is shown on its country page: for a single verification step, not as the basis for an account that assumes a phone number stays attached to one person over time.

Do not use an Numbox number to open or verify a bank account, confirm a payment, sign in to a work account, or recover a password on any account. These flows expect a phone number that stays with one owner, and a shared number does not meet that bar — anyone who opens the same inbox page can read the same message you receive.

If a service falls into one of these categories, or keeps rejecting the shared number for another reason, a shared number from Numbox is not the right tool for it. A private number from sms-verification-number.com is built for that case instead.

Carriers, the app you are verifying with, and the shared nature of the number all affect whether an SMS reaches the inbox and when. Numbox does not promise that a code will arrive, that it will arrive within any particular window, or that a given app will accept the number at all.

Every number on Numbox is provided as is. The pool of active numbers changes as carriers add and reclaim them, so a number you used last week may no longer be active, and a number active today may stop working tomorrow. Numbox does not hold a number for you between visits and does not promise that a specific number will stay listed.

Do not use a bot, script, or any automated process to poll an inbox or collect messages sent to numbers you do not control, whether for resale, aggregation, or any other purpose. The inbox pages are for a person reading a code they are waiting for, not a feed to scrape.

• Follow the terms of whatever service you are verifying with a number, not just these terms.
• Take responsibility for anything sent from, or read through, a number you use.
• Check that a use case fits the acceptable-use and prohibited-use sections above before you rely on a shared number for it.

Numbox is not a party to your relationship with the service you verify with, and does not review what a number is used for before the fact.

Numbox may update these terms as the service changes. The version posted on this page is always the current one, and continuing to use a number after an update means you accept the new terms.
