Get a Telegram verification code on a temporary number

Telegram's start screen asks for a country and a phone number for Telegram before it opens a chat — no email, no username step, this is the account. Get an active free one above, choose the matching country, and tap next. Telegram texts a verification SMS to that temporary number's inbox here within a minute.

If an old account already sits there, Telegram delivers the reply inside the app itself, not by SMS — this page shows incoming SMS only, so get a different free number instead of waiting. A fresh one with no prior sign-in almost always receives SMS this way.

Telegram watches how reliably a code arrives and, when delivery looks weak, switches to a robot voice call reading it aloud — common on a shared number already used for several sign-ins. A free number exists only to receive the SMS Telegram sends — it cannot place the call Telegram sometimes uses instead, and it cannot send a message on your behalf. Once verification is done, Telegram moves the session to your device; this page still gets anything new sent there, but no longer holds your chats.
