Get a Telegram verification code on a temporary number

Telegram's start screen asks for a country and a phone number for Telegram before Telegram opens a chat — no email, no username step, this is the account. Telegram watches how reliably it can receive a code and, when delivery looks weak, switches to a robot voice call reading it aloud — common on a shared one already used for several sign-ins.
